One of the best ways to meet like-minded people, to have fun and to broaden your horizons, is to join a Sports Club. At the University of Hertfordshire we have 30 clubs offering a variety of sports for all abilities.
Who We Are
The Athletic Union (AU) is the organisation, supported by the University and the Hertfordshire Students’ Union, through which the student representative clubs and other student sporting activity is managed.
Any University of Hertfordshire student can be a member of a sports club by joining the Athletic Union, whether you are trying a sport for the first time or you are an experienced player.
We believe that by offering the highest possible standards in terms of equipment, facilities and staff, we are giving the student the best sport experience.
The Atheltic Union office is located in the Sports Village on the de Havilland Campus.
The majority of our sports clubs represent the university by competing in the BUCS and other regional / national leagues and competitions, which are played on Wednesday afternoons or weekends across the country.
How It Works
All sports clubs at the university are run by a dedicated committee, consisting of students. The clubs are supported with leadership and guidance from Athletic Union staff that assist in a range of areas.
